About Appalachian Valley

Our founder, Steve Kane, started this chapter with a deep passion for versatile hunting dogs and an unwavering commitment to the NAVHDA community. His knowledge, generosity, and dedication inspired countless handlers and dogs over the years. Though Steve is no longer with us, his influence is felt in everything we do. We are proud to carry on his vision—fostering a supportive, welcoming environment where both dogs and handlers can learn, grow, and succeed together. Every training day, every test, and every new member is a tribute to the foundation Steve laid and the legacy he leaves behind.
