Step 2: Become a NAVHDA Member
Join the National Organization:

Visit the NAVHDA International website and sign up for a membership.

Membership gives you access to training resources, events, and the ability to participate in sanctioned tests.

You'll receive the NAVHDA magazine and stay updated on events nationwide.
Join Our Local Chapter:

Once you're a NAVHDA International member, you can join our local chapter!

Access to our training grounds (CRP fields & pond)

Invitations to local training days

Supportive, hands-on guidance from experienced handlers

Connection to a community of dog enthusiasts

Priority test entry

Step 3: Register Your Dog With NAVHDA

You don’t need to have a registered purebred to train or participate, but if you plan to test your dog, registration is required.

Visit NAVHDA Dog Registration Page and fill out the form.

You’ll need:

Your dog’s breed

Pedigree info (if available)
-
Basic details like birth date and name

Once registered, your dog will be eligible to participate in NAVHDA testing programs.
Step 4: Participate in a Test(Optional)

Once you feel ready, you can sign up for a NAVHDA Test (such as the Natural Ability Test for young dogs).

Testing gives you a structured way to track progress and identify strengths.
